DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY
Recognizing that the consumption of alcohol or drugs can have extremely serious adverse effects on the behaviour and judgement of persons, causing dangerous situations to occur; the carriage, possession or consumption of alcohol and/or controlled substances or drugs by individuals, or working under their influence, is prohibited for all seafarers during their entire contractual periods in the Company. Also prohibited is the abuse of prescribed drugs in the possession of individuals. The penalty for contravention of this policy is instant dismissal from service.
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE POLICY
We shall implement this policy by clearly defining it to persons signing seagoing contracts, by arranging unannounced drug and alcohol testing of ship staff and by strictly monitoring the issue to and/or use of prescribed medicines by personnel serving onboard ships.
